It's nice that SAP has provided Lumira Cloud free of charge, so I can get junior students (or MBA students in older age) experience analytics in an easy way. BUT, limitations are astounding that make casual users wonder!

For example, there is no simple averaging function (I see no use for the "running and moving averages" that are provided). Or, the lead zero can't be imported as a data format, which makes month, day and other smaller time units nearly useless (e.g., 10, 11.. is sorted so that it precedes 2, 3...). Hey, time-related breakdowns of measures are on the key aspects analytics, aren't they?!

In a word, fast execution and aesthetics are nice, but the neglect of elementary functionality almost defeats the purpose of analytics.

Anybody has any idea what SAP's thinking on this is?

Hello experts,

The filter is not getting applied in the visualization room, the following error appears.(Lumira1.22)

No data matches your filter error appears.

The data is coming from a virtual table and the models have created based on the virtual table.The calc view shows data,and even the preparation room has data,but when I apply filter on the data in the visualize tab the error is shown.

Can anyone please assist.

Hi everyone,

I have a situation where I'm using flatfile data (*.csv) which is in a monthly format (MMM.yyyy).

When loading the data into Lumira, I have the option of choosing said format for the data. However, once the data is imported into Lumira, the tool does not recognize my date column as a date, and thinks it's a string value. From the context menu I'm able to choose "Convert to Date" but the resulting data format list does not have the "MMM.yyyy" option.

I've tried using a calculated dimension to split the string into several different columns which I could maybe then use to trick Lumira into converting these columns into months and years, but this hasn't worked.

Any ideas on how to get Lumira to understand this dateformat? Similarly I've noticed that ddMMyyyy is also not supported

I've already seen unaswered posts like this:

How to push data changes to SAP Lumira Cloud via API?

that have been locked by some really strange reason.

I find this topic very important:

So basically what i want to do is:

1) I have a SAP ERP standard GUI screen with ALV grid.

2) I extend view button with new Lumira mode

3) By switching to this mode I convert ALV grid data to CSV file

4) Then i call some Lumira Cloud API to upload this flat file instantly without downloading/uploading dialog.

But I haven't yet figured out whether the last step is possible or not.

Any suggestions?

Hi,

We had installed and configured SAP lumira server on HANA instance. we had configured windows AD for SAP HANA.

Window AD is working for Hana but when we are login to Lumira server with AD user it is giving error invalid user and password.

Please let us know how to resolve this issue . shall we need to perform any other activity to work with window AD login for Lumira.

Please help on this.

Hi,

I need to connect Lumira 1.23 with sql server instances (of sql 2008 and 2012). In this case I need to use windows users and it seems there is a problem with the integrated authentication.

In some blogs and articles I have seen that the sqljdbc_auth.dll file has to be copied in one or more folder but I haven't clear this point.

Can anybody help to fix the problem?

I have developed Lumira stories in desktop version and deployed in trial version of Cloud Lumira server.

But not able to connect HANA DB as backend to create stories in Cloud Lumira.

is there any way to create Cloud Lumira stories with backend as HANA DB ? i'm able to achieve this in desktop version and again not able to publish to Cloud Lumira.

i tried with Hana Cloud Platform trial account.

But i dont find Lumira Server on HCP. Only Cloud lumira is available where we are not able to connect with HANA DB.

Is Lumira is available on HCP ? or how to connect HANA DB with Cloud lumira server?

I'm new to Lumira developments, Any help would be appreciable.

Hello all ,

We are currently on SAP BI 4.1 SP 5 FP 3 and we have installed the latest version of SAP Lumira .

We have also implimented SSL for secured login to BI launch pad ,CMC -etc .

Is it possible to configure the SAP BI server URL in Lumira preferences to supports https based URL ?

The default URL looks like -http://<server name>:6405/biprws

If possible then please assist me to identify where and what I need to configure . We are currently on Windows environment .

hello,

i tried to create a storyboard and ran into some problems that i'm hoping someone can help me out with.

issue #1 how do you resize a charts frame or the frame for an input control? i can make them taller or shorter, but i can't figure out how to reduce the width without the object to the left or right also changing.

usually, software allows you to resize an object by clicking on the lower right corner of the object and resize it, but that didn't work for me in lumira.

issue #2 - the edit menu (in the compose room) has undo and redo options. i can't figure out how to enable them. if that isn't possible, how does one access these options?

issue #3 - on the compose tab, the objects (like a chart and filter) that are side by side, appear with a big gap between them, when i click the preview button. i can't figure out how to remove that space.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

hello,

i am trying to follow as much of the user guide (v1.23) as possible.
section 6.3.2 adding text to pictogram on pg 121 is confusing to me.

it states that the pictogram feature requires a specific chart type on a infographic layout (see step 1)

i don't understand what this section is trying to explain, other then only on infographic layouts can text objects be added to/over a pictogram.

i tried this and i did not have a chart on the infographic page and was able to add text over a pictogram object.

this doesn't agree with the text.

i'm hoping someone can clear this section of the user guide up for me.

I assume render is the function that does all the drawing logic for a specific Chart Type in VIZ Packer Utility. How do we handle any updates to the Data and do a smooth transition from the initialized State of the Chart to a final State as defined by Data.

Currently I see render function as to Initialize SVG and implement some code that would display the Chart with initial Data.

-- When the Data gets updated - I don't want to call render function which initializes my SVG again

Is there a different function that makes use of the SVG that was initialized in render function and then apply updates to it that would create a smooth transition from Initial to Final State.

I am trying to connect to SQL server from Lumira using Free Hand SQL Datasource.

When I connect using JDBC (4th gen) driver I get error

"Driver error:Login failed for user 'user'.client connectionid: xyz....."

I checked TCP/IP is enabled and Windows and SQL Server Authentication mode is selected.

Your help will be highly appreciated,

Dear Experts

I installed Lumira Desktop and was able to connect to the
HANA Server.

Later while I was working the software hanged and I had to
shut it down.

Now, after re-opening the software I receive error "Check the Server Name and Instance ID"
(though the server credentials are same as error and correct”

Any suggests on how to rectify
