Deploy Lumira with Custom settings for WinAD authentication and autoupdate

Hi all,

 

We deploy Lumira as an package to our users via SCCM but are facing couple of issues listed below, any help in overcoming those will be appreciated -

 

1. WinAD authentication settings for connecting to universes -

     In order to get the windows authentication working, we have to modify the .ini for lumira and mention the location of the krb5 and bsclogin files. we are able to do that while deploying the package. the problem arises after the auto-update happens, it wipes the extra lines in the .ini file and windows authentication stops working until the user enters those lines manually again. How can we avoid this?

 

2. In order for auto update to work properly, users need to modify the Proxy details in the preference section. How can we automate that part while deploying the application as a package? which file (general.persistent ? ) needs to be modified?

 

3. Most of our users connect to universes for fetching the data-sets, is there a way we can save the system details (CMS cluster or host-name) so that they do just have to type in their username / pwd and hit enter without bothering about the system name to be entered.

Lumira cannot connect to BO universe

Hi,

We have two BOE environments BO 3.1 and BO 4.1 and with Lumira 1.22 as the reporting tool.

User can connect to an universe in the BO 4.1 environment but while connecting to the same universe in the BO 3.1 environment,

saying : cannot load selected universe: cannot initialize report engine server (Error: RWI00226) 

 

We have checked the cmc and all the webi processing servers and the adaptive processing servers are running and enabled.

 

Could you please advise if this is a case of incompatibility between Lumira and 3.1?

Limitations of free Lumira Cloud

Hi

 

I registered for a free Lumira cloud account some time ago and I can login to it directly using a digital certificate with out an issue.

 

Recently we purchased a licensed Lumira desktop version. I have been trying to publish a story board from the desktop to the cloud but keeps getting the error message " Session can not be opened for user Adrian.. @..... on https;//cloud.saplumira.com. Check Preferences / Network settings".

 

Our IT department has confirmed several times that the network setting are correct. 

 

Can someone please confirm whether there is a limitation in publishing on the free cloud using Lumira Desktop?

 

Is buying the Lumira Enterprise edition is the only way to publish from desk top to cloud?

 

I am aware that the free edition has 1GB data limit. What else are the limitations?

How do we transport lumira story boards from Dev to QA to Prod if we not integrated with BOBJ? Is there a way to transport objects if we just use Lumira Desktop and Lumira Server?

Lumira, create New Dataset JDBC - saprouter problem

Dear Community,

 

I found this issue trying to create New Dataset, Query with SQL, SAP ERP 6 - SAP Java Connector (SAP JCo), Server Name

 

Connecting to ERP server with parameters for Server Name /H/saprouter1/H/saprouter2/H/server works well, but connecting to the same ERP server when there is more than two saprouters like this  /H/saprouter1/H/saprouter2/H/saprouter3/H/server Lumira Version 1.22.1 Build 62 sends this error: "Driver error: Connect to SAP gateway failed". Both saprouter strings work from SAP GUI. I wonder if others have the same issue.

Custom Hierarchy on Lumira Analytic View

Hi

I am trying to create a custom hierarchy in Lumira Desktop using Analytic view and it is greyed out. Only the 'Geography Hierarchy' option is available.

 

Is there any restrictions in creating a custom hierarchy using HANA Analytic View dimensions. I couldn't anything specific in the documentation.

 

Additional question if I use Universe as a Lumira Dataset, is Universe hierarchy supported in Lumira ?

Unable to Publish to BO Explorer

Hi,

 

 

We have installed SAP Lumira v1.21 Personal Edition. We are using SAP BIP 4.1 SP3 and have installed SAP BO Explorer.

 

I am able to install SAP Lumira even when port 6401 is not open. Below points are mentioned in installation guide.

 

 

1. Local port 6401 must be open.

 

2. One port in the range 4520–4539 must be open

 

 

For what purpose are these ports used?

 

 

I want to publish the dataset to BO Explorer. After entering the CMS details when I click on Connect, “Connecting to Server” message is displayed and hangs there. Nothing happens.

 

Could you please let me know if ports of BO Explorer services needs to be opened in client machine?

 

 

Please help me resolve this issue?

HDB 10002 error

Attempting to publish story to SAP Lumira Server and received the following message:

 

Error: The data could not be inserted into the calculation engine. (HDB 10002)

 

The data set uploaded prior to a refresh. Prior to refresh the data showed approximately 4.2M rows and currently has just over 5M rows after data refresh. I'm wondering if the data size has caused this issue. Is there a limit on SAP Lumira Server upload size and if so is there a way to increase the permitted upload size?

SAP Lumira Desktop Connectivity to Salesforce.com

I am trying to use SAP Lumira to connect to our test salesforce.com (salesforce.com - Customer Secure Login Page).  When I use below credentials that I use to login via web browser, I get an error (attached below).  What am I doing wrong?  My userid is not locked.  My credentials are correct.  Should I be using some kind of physical server name and not a URL?  I cannot find anything on SAP's support website or SCN explaining how to do this.

I found this module in swdc, but only exists for Linux Suse.

Below is a pic showing this,  "Linux on x86 64 64bit" is empty.

Lumira governance on BI Platform 4.1SP5

Hello,

 

According to the last update of the BI Platform (4.1 SP5), we can now add Lumira Governance on the platform without Lumira Server or the BI Add-on.

We are trying to set this up but unfortunately we are not able to make it work. We followed this link

 

What we have

- BI Platform 4.1 SP5 installed on server called TheServer

- Lumira 1.21 installed on user's computer

 

What we did

- Add a LumiraGovernance.properties file in the appropriate folder (.sapvi)

- Contents :

enable=true

adapter.type=boe

authentication.type=secWinAD

rest.url=http://theserver:6405/biprws

useSSO=true

 

What we get

- When launching Lumira, an error pops up after it tries to connect to the server :

Could not acquire settings from Trusted Data Discovery source.

Error retrieving the Trusted Data Discovery governing data. Unexpected response status from server.

(HDB 14112)

- If useSSO=false in the properties file, we still have the same problem, but after entering the credentials.

 

Does one of you have any idea of what we are missing here?

SQL 2012 connection not showing in SAP Lumira after downloading and installing the driver

Hello,

 

I am very new to SAP Lumira. I followed the steps in the videos to install the SQL 2012 JDBC drivers. I downloaded the drivers from Microsoft installed them in the %program files% folder as suggested by Microsoft.

 

I then followed the instructions for installing the drivers in SAP Lumira and the option to select SQL when Acquiring data is still grayed out.

 

Any help is appreciated.

 

I am running SAP Lumira version 1.21.0 build 49. This is the desktop version running on Windows 8.1.

Lumira Desktop - who supports and tests?

Dear Colleagues,

We are in the process to install Lumira Desktop but for us it is unclear who is the best group to support (take care of incidents in case of issues, triggers patching and test the tool). For SAP GUI our SAP Basis guys are responsible, they make sure that the SAP GUI is packaged, tested and rolled out to all workplaces once a year. The MDM console is handled by the application team due to different reasons.

One of the reason why I would not see the patching, rollout with the SAP Basis team is that they will not use the software and therefore will have not the knowledge to support it. On the other side there is the tight integration between Lumira Desktop and Lumira Server...

What is your opinion?

How To Trace Lumira Client Tool

Hello Team,

 

How to trace lumira client tool like the way we trace BO tools using BO_Trace.ini. I am looking not to trace data connectivity but the core tool trace like from where it takes JDBC jars for data connectivity , Where it looks for JVM while loading.

Lumira Stories display problems in BI Mobile 6.1.17 (build 13)

I have update SAP BI Mobile to version 6.1.17 build13 on my iPad (iOS 8.1.3)

I use SAP Lumira Cloud for my publications.

My old and new (1.23) Lumira pubblications is not correctly displayed.

Stories after long loading times not shown any data and graph (freezed).

For example the story in web show

but in BI Mobile (only pictures appear!) ...
